I'm sure that Ken Whisenhunt would love to receive word on Friday that a new collective bargaining agreement has been reached and that the long NFL lockout is finally over. But if the lockout is in fact lifted tomorrow, Whisenhunt might not hear about the news right away. Why? Well, the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals is scheduled to play the opening round in the American Century Championship tomorrow morning in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Whisenhunt is one of 85 athletes, coaches and celebrities in the event, which is celebrating its 22nd birthday this year. He'll be paired with fellow football junkie Trent Dilfer, and NASCAR drive Dale Jarret on Friday.
↵Whisenhunt is one of 37 current or former NFL'ers in the field. He's not quite on the level as guys like Tony Romo and Billy Joe Tolliver, two of the favorites to win the title. But Whisenhunt is no slouch whatsoever on the links. He finished 18th in last year's event, which I believe was the first year that he's played in the popular event. Whisenhunt is listed as a 20:1 favorite to win. Good luck Whiz and may there be good news on the lockout front just after you're done having some fun this weekend out in Tahoe!
