The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale Medical Suspensions: Kyle Kingsbury, Nine Other UFC Fighters Suspended

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) have handed down medical suspensions to ten UFC fighters following Saturday's ‘The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale' event at "The Pearl" at the Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Headliners Clay Guida, Anthony Pettis, and Anthony Ferguson did not incur any medical penalties.

Three fighters - Kyle Kingsbury, Danny Downes, and Chris Cope - felt the brunt of the suspensions, receiving six month notices each. All three, however, will have the opportunity to lighten the restrictions pending specific physician clearance.

Kingsbury's injury in particular was quite gruesome. Midway through his fight with Fabio Maldonado, "Kingsbu" suffered a left orbital fracture, which quickly swelled to vast proportions, enveloping his bloodied face. Photo courtesy of MMA Weekly:

Seven other fighters -- TUF 13 finalist Ramsey Nijem, Ken Stone, Fabio Maldonado, Tim Credeur, Shamar Bailey, Justin Edwards, and Josh Grispi -- received much shorter suspensions due to various lacerations or having been on the receiving end of a knockout. Ken Stone, on the heels of a brutal destruction from bantamweight contender Scott Jorgensen, received the longest of the restrictions -- a two month suspension.
