Phoenix's Newest Pro Franchise Breaks Out Kits

So then you know I'm talking about soccer when I say "kits."

The Phoenix Monsoon, set to open play in the PASL-Pro indoor soccer league on Nov. 12, have unveiled their home and road uniforms. They're nothing too flashy, but effectively simplistic with the red and white. I'd wear one for sure.

It's an exciting time for the Monsoon right now. Even as the club is forming its indoor club roster, the Monsoon Classic friendly match between Mexican teams Morelia and Club America is 10 days away (July 10) at University of Phoenix Stadium, and all indications are that the crowd could be pretty good.

Maybe not close to capacity, but I did get an e-mail from S.A.F.E. Management, which handles event-day operations for a lot of stadium workers, and the email said the company was looking for people to work the game. That tells me that there will be a sizable enough crowd to require a sizable staff to work.

In looking at the ticket prices and corresponding seating chart, the vast majority of tickets are $20-$40 for a lower-bowl seat.

The game is set for 5 p.m.

Unfortunately, former Club America goalkeeper Memo Ochoa, who started out with the Gold Cup champion Mexican national team before being suspended for testing positive for a banned substance, isn't likely to be in Phoenix. He's close to signing with a European club after a decision on his playing status is made, which won't come until July 7 at the earliest.
