Phoenix Suns Pick Markieff Morris 13th In NBA Draft

The Phoenix Suns use their 13th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft to take power forward Markieff Morris from Kansas. Morris is a 6-9 power forward known more for his defense although he is a fairly efficient scorer with a decent mid-range jump shot. He shot 58.9 percent from the field in his third year at Kansas (13.6 points per game) and averaged an impressive 8.3 rebounds per game. He even has decent range, hitting 38-94 (.404) from three in his career at Kansas.

On the down side, Morris has a below average wingspan for his position (6-11) and isn't known as a guy who can face up and put the ball on the floor. Morris is a more polished player and fills a need for size on the front court but doesn't do anything extremely well and overall is a safe pick.

Stay tuned for more information on the Suns' pick, including feedback from the Lon Babby and Lance Blanks press conference.
