The 3-1 final score doesn't full do justice to the domination of FC Barcelona in their victory over the very good Manchester United. Barca won the 2011 UEFA Champions Final behind the always brilliant play of Lionel Messi and the complete control of their midfield masters, Xavi and Andrés Iniesta.
After Wayne Rooney tied the game one all with a beautiful play in the box ('34) the two sides seemed to be headed towards a fantastic second half. But is was Messi's blast from range at the 54 minute mark that put Barcelona ahead and then David Villa removed all doubt ('69).
Barca had 68 percent of the possession and out-shot Manchester United 22 to 4. Man U didn't have a single corner kick opportunity in the game. Here's a video of the Messi goal.
