FRENCH OPEN UPSET ALERT: Rafael Nadal Down 2-1 To John Isner

In Day 3 action at the 2011 French Open, world and tournament number one Rafael Nadal finds himself down two sets to one to American monster, John Isner. Rafa won the first set 6-4 on Court Philippe Chatrier but the 6-foot-9 American with the 140 mph serve has kept Nadal pinned deep behind the baseline and in trouble. Isner won the second and third sets in tie break with scores of 7-2 in each.

Nadal is able to return a large portion of Isner's serves but is so far behind the baseline that he can't handle the drop shots or volleys that John is throwing at him. Nadal's famous hard spin isn't as effective against the tall American either as the ball that bounces up to a normal-size opponent's neck is right in the hitting zone of Isner.

You can never count Rafa Nadal out of any match and certainly not one played on his favorite clay surface at Roland Garros.

This great match is being broadcast live on TV on the Tennis Channel and is streaming live online at Tennis Channel.com.
