Arizona Rattlers Play In AFL Game Of The Week, NFL Network, Friday May 20

The Arizona Rattlers game against the New Orleans VooDoo has been selected for national broadcast as the AFL Game of the Week. The game will be broadcast live on the NFL Network on Friday night at 5:00 PM Pacific time.

After getting off to a hot start in 2011 (7-2 record, first place in the West Divison of the National Conference), the Rattlers have earned a lot of attention. First, they found a new majority owner, Ron Shurts. Soon thereafter, the Rattlers lost in stunning fashion to the Chicago Rush, 50-49 on Saturday night.

Arena football is pushing hard to create a big-time environment for its games, increasing the in-game entertainment to draw families and improve revenue in the inaugural season of the "new AFL."

The New Orleans VooDoo are only 2-7 on the season, so the Rattlers should be able to showcase their talent and come away with a big win on national TV.

Arizona Rattlers players to watch:

↵

Rod Windsor, WR: Windsor is the team's biggest star, and he gets a big round of applause during player introductions. In 2011, he has 83 receptions for 1024 yards and 17 touchdowns.

↵

Nick Davila, QB: Davila has led the team well during this campaign, throwing for 2644 yards and 53 touchdowns. Pretty gaudy, huh? Arena football is crazy.

↵

Trandon Harvey, WR: Someone has to catch all those touchdown passes, right? Harvey's your man. He's picked up 21 touchdowns on the season, with 952 receiving yards to top it off.
