After Nehro finished second place in the 2011 Kentucky Derby, owner Ahmed Zayat announced that his horse would skip the Preakness Stakes and run in the Belmont Stakes on June 11.
There was a little drama last week, when Nehro was running well and the Zayat considered letting the hardworking horse take a shot at Pimlico on May 21.
Well, that talk is officially over. Zayat announced today that Nehro will not race on Saturday in the 136th Preakness Stakes.
Zayat says Nehro "couldn't look any better," but added, "I'm just concerned about him having four hard races in eight weeks."Before running in the Derby, Nehro was second in the Louisiana Derby on March 26 and second in the Arkansas Derby on April 16.
