Diamondbacks Open Series In San Fran With Surging Giants

The Arizona Diamondbacks are fresh off losing a series with the last place Padres and now head into the city by the bay for a quick three with the San Francisco Giants. The Giants are coming off a 3-0 sweep of division-leading Rockies and find themselves just a game and a half out of first. Let the pennant race begin.

The D-backs will be throwing Ian Kenndy (3-1, 3.80 ERA) at the Giants on Tuesday against some fella name of Tim Lincecum (3-3, 2.47 ERA). Lincecum has won four of his last five decisions against the D-backs while Kennedy is up and down all season. When Ian's good, he's very very good. When he's not...

Armando Galarraga (3-2) will go against Jonathan Sanchez (2-2) in Game 2 on Wednesday and Daniel Hudson (3-4) faces Matt Cain (2-2) on Thursday.

First pitch on Tuesday is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Fox Sports Arizona with the live game thread at AZ Snake Pit.

Series Preview #12: Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Francisco Giants - AZ Snake Pit
Not much has stayed constant for the D-Backs over the past decade, or even the past half-decade, but one thing that I can rely on as a Diamondback fan is a sense of existential dread that creeps into my subconscious like a Bay-Area fog whenever the Diamondbacks travel to PacBell Park SBC Park AT&T Park.
