Suns forward/center Channing Frye is a giving guy and he's seeking input on ideas for charity events he can put on in his native Phoenix next year. Frye already has a charity kickball game in Portland, his adopted offseason home, that's quickly become the highlight of the Rose City social calendar.
↵Now he wants to expand back and give back to his hometown.
↵↵↵Hey ? Of the day. What type of charity even do you think I should throw next year I'm going to do 1 in Phx and 1 after my kickball tourney if we have time. So throw me some ideas of fun events! -Frye's Facebook page

We have three ideas for Channing that should meet his criteria. These are all unique to the Valley of the Sun and they are fun and involve Channing doing fun stuff and not just writing a check.
↵Channing Charity Idea Number One: Waterslide-a-thon
↵This is Phoenix take on the tried and true "a-thon". The Frye Family Foundation would partner with a local water park and put on this family fun event. Kids and parents would collect pledges for each trip down the waterslide. For example, someone pledge a dollar for every time the kid (or Frye) went down the big slide at Wet 'n' Wild. How much fun would that be to see the seven-foot Frye going down the water slide 200 times?
↵Channing Charity Idea Number Two: Sun Bake Off and Sale
↵Held in July in Phoenix, people would gather in a parking lot with their favorite outdoor cooking recipes. People would bake their food on the hot concrete in the summer sun. Frye and a few of this friends would judge the food and then a bake sale would be held. Excess sun baked treats could be donated to a local shelter.
↵Channing Charity Idea Number Three: Camelback Mountain Death March
↵This one is admittedly only for the physically fit but there are plenty of those in Phoenix. Held in the hottest part of the hottest month, participants race Channing to the top of Camelback Mountain. Entry fee is two cases of bottled water that would be donated to the homeless. In some cities people conduct blanket drives for the homeless, here it's all about the bottled water.
↵Come on, Channing, what do you say!
