The Arizona State Sun Devils moved up from 10th to ninth in the latest Baseball America poll. ASU swept its three-game series against Washington State during last week, bumping its record to 25-9 and offsetting the sweep it endured against Oregon State the week prior.
↵↵The USA Today Coaches' Poll also ranks the Sun Devils 9th in the nation. Both polls have Virginia, with a 36-3 record, atop the country.
↵↵However, the Arizona Wildcats have trended in the opposite direction, slipping to 23rd in both polls. Losing two out of three games to UCLA could only have hurt the 23-13 Wildcats' standing. Overall, Arizona has dropped six of its last nine games.
↵↵The Sun Devils continue their season Thursday, April 21, when they open a three-game series against California. At 23-9, the Golden Bears are a worthy foe, ranking 15th in Baseball America and 19th in the Coaches' Poll. Meanwhile, Arizona has a three-game series against Oregon lined up. It also starts April 21.
