Coyotes Host Calgary Flames, Aiming For Season Sweep

The Phoenix Coyotes will look for a similar effort to the show they put on against these same Calgary Flames less than a week ago, when they visit the Flames on Tuesday night. These two squads last met on Thursday, when Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 39 shots en route to a 3-0 Coyotes win. Phoenix's most recent game, though, was a 5-2 winning effort against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.

As has been the case lately with Phoenix, they'll be a bit shorthanded heading into Tuesday's tilt. Rostislav Klesla and Vernon Fiddler are both day-to-day after sustaining injuries that involved pucks to the face. Martin Hanzal is also on the injury report with a lower-body injury.

The Coyotes seemed to have picked up the pace after dropping five games in a row, winning three of four, while gaining a point in that lone loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

Calgary hasn't been so lucky lately, losing back-to-back games and clinging to life in the eighth spot in the Western Conference.

Tuesday presents a crucial contest for both, as they both try and grab one of the five spots left in the Western Conference that have eight teams fighting for them.

You can follow along as the Coyotes continue their quest towards the postseason with Five For Howling, with the puck scheduled for a 9:30 drop, Eastern Time.
