NFL Picks, Week 14: Can The Steelers And Ravens Cover Big Spreads?

NFL Week 14 is here and we are too with our weekly picks against the spread. We had a fantastic showing last week, going 13-3. We picked the Colts to beat the spread, we picked the Saints plus the points, and we picked Tim Tebow. We struck out on the Packers covering, the Falcons winning and the Cardinals. We are now 101-84 ATS this season. You can still pick against us in our weekly contest which you can join here (ID: 55411, PW: arizona).

Here's our first five picks for Week 14. We'll have the rest of the picks posted as the week goes one.

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (-14.5): There's obviously only one question here, can the Steelers cover this big spread. Given how inept the Browns offense is (14.6 ppg) and the point in the season and the fact that it's a home game, we say, "Yes, They Can!". Pick: Steelers

Indianapolis Colts at Baltimore Ravens (-17): This is exactly the same situation as above except the Colts are even worse and therefor the spread is even larger. Our answer, the same. Pick: Ravens

Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers (+3): The Panthers, aside from a three-point stinker against the Titans, have had no problem scoring points. It's their defense that's let them down and put them in a 4-8 hole. The Falcons have seven wins but have yet to beat a quality team. We'll go with Cam Newton. Pick: Panthers

Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals (-3): The Texans are down to their third string quarterback but they still have one of the best defenses in the league. The Bengals, as young teams do, have faded a bit after a hot start. Still, they are at home and should be able to find a way to score enough to beat the Texans. Pick: Bengals

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions (-7): The poor Lions have struggled but the Vikings are just horrible. Pick: Lions
