NFL Picks, Week 17: The Eagles Are Finally Flying, But Can They Cover?

For many NFL teams in Week 17 there's little to play for besides pride. Many others, however, are playing for playoff spots or vital seeding. You better believe that we take that into account when making our picks against the spread for Week 17.

Here's our picks for the second group of games. Here's the first group of picks with the final picks posting on Thursday.

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints (-10): Cam Newton and the Panthers had a pretty nice season but their defense couldn't hold up their end of the deal. The Saints are fighting for playoff seeding and will almost certainly win this game and put up points on the Panthers. But the Saints defense isn't great either and will be the reason the Saints don't cover this line. Pick: Panthers

Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles (-9): The Eagles have won three-straight and are finally putting all that "Dream Team" talent to good use. The Skins are long done but in a division game, you can't count them out. Just kidding, you can count them out. Pick: Eagles

San Francisco 49ers at St. Louis Rams (+10.5): The Rams are really bad and playing for a chance at the number one overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. The 49ers want that second seed and are very good. Pick: 49ers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons (-10.5): Oh, Tampa Bay, how you've disappointed us this season. The Falcons are exactly great but thanks to an easy schedule they have nine wins and have clinched a Wildcard spot and now have little to play for. The line is too big. Pick: Bucs

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals (+3): This line feels about right with the Bengals still in the Wildcard hunt and the Ravens want that first round bye. This game, actually, should be one of the better ones this week. Pick: Ravens
