Let the bad jokes flow with this slate of NFL Week 16 games that includes the big Jets vs. Giants battle for New Jersey. Our picks against the spread today include a coin toss to see if the Patriots will cover and leaves us scratching our heads about the huge line for the Steelers given their quarterback situation. Here's the picks for this group of Week 16 games. Picks for the early part of the schedule are here and the rest will come tomorrow.
Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (-1): The Chiefs are coming off their big upset over the Packers and have found themselves with a respectable 6-8 record considering their injuries this season. The Raiders (7-7) are still technically in the Wildcard hunt but their chances are slim at best. With the way Oakland has been playing of late, we see no reason to think their playoff hopes won't end in KC this week. Pick: Chiefs
Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots (-10): This one is all about the spread and the Dolphins are 4-3 ATS on the road which doesn't give us much guidance. The Pats are locked up their division but are still playing for seeding while Miami has proven to be a tough opponents for good teams at times this season. When in doubt, go with the home team. Pick: Patriots
New York Giants at New York Jets (-3): This game has far more interest in the media capital of the world than in the rest of the country who have tuned out of both these mediocre teams. Both have a lot to play for and the Giants are banged up which helps explain the line favoring the Jets. Like the rest of the country, I suspect, we've been burned countless times by Rex Ryan's team this season and would avoid this game like the plague if we could. We can't. Pick: Giants
St. Louis Rams at Pittsburgh Steelers (-17): It seems impossible to think that after what we saw Monday night that Roethlisberger will play in this game. It was foolish for him to go last week and at home against a really bad Rams teams they shouldn't need him. Honestly, if they can't beat the Rams with their back up QB than they just aren't that good. That said, with a back up QB this line is too high and if a hobbled Ben does play it's still too high. Pick: Rams
Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans (-7.5): We can't really figure Tennessee out this season but they are banged up heading into this game. The Jaguars have pulls off a few nice upsets but have struggled to put points on the board and the Titans defense is still very good and should give them this win and hopefully enough margin to cover the spread as well. Pick: Titans
Minnesota Vikings at Washington Redskins (-6.5): If at all possible, don't watch this game. Pick: Vikings
San Diego Chargers at Detroit Lions (-3): The Chargers are finally coming back to life but it's probably too late. The Lions were super lucky to escape with the win over the Raiders last week and while they are at home, they still have plenty of issues on offense. Pick: Chargers
