MLS Club To Host Pro Combine In Casa Grande

Attention soccer players (or those who are just curious): Next month will be your chance to compete for a spot on the roster of one of the more successful clubs in Major League Soccer, Real Salt Lake.

The team is holding a pro combine, just another way to say a tryout camp, at Grande Sports World just outside of Casa Grande for prospective players and could select someone (or conceivably more than one person) to join the team in preseason training with a chance to make the final roster for the 2012 season.

The 2011 season just ended two days ago with the L.A. Galaxy winning the league championship.

↵

Real Salt Lake runs a youth academy at the GSW site. RSL won the MLS Cup in 2009 and made it to the Western Conference final, where it fell to the Galaxy this year.

The combine is from Dec. 8-11 and for $375, the facility is offering three nights' stay with meals and access to facilities and fields. The entire RSL technical staff, presumably including head coach Jason Kreis, will be in attendance.

Interested players should send a CV, or player resume, to fjuarez@grandesports.com.
