Ryan Bader got his career on track with a crushing first round knockout of Jason Brilz. The knockout came at 1:17 into the very first round, it was Bader's third knockout victory in the UFC.
There was not much to this fight as Bader landed a couple of early shots as the two fighters were feeling each other out during the opening minute of the fight.
Bader then landed a crushing right hand that landed right behind the ears of Jason Brilz. The punch sent Brilz to the canvas and made him go limp. The referee immediately intervened stopped the fight as it was clear Brilz was not going to recover as he did not make any attempts to defend himself.
This is Ryan Bader's first win in 2011, and is first win since September of 2010. Brilz has now lost three fights in a row and four of his last five, meaning he may be let go from the UFC. With this win Bader puts his name back into light heavyweight contention.
