NFL Expert Picks, Week 6: Green Bay Packers Due For A Let Down

NFL Week 6 doesn't have a ton of great games. The best of Sunday morning is San Francisco at Detroit (who knew!) which we already called our Lock of the Week. The rest of the early games aren't all that interesting except maybe the Eagles at Redskins but that's a stretch. Here's our expert picks against the spread for the Sunday morning games.

Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons (-4): The Panthers have been close in a lot of games this year and the Falcons haven't exactly had their act together. Even though they are on the road, Carolina is a better passing, rushing and scoring team. Defensively, they are about equal. So with the numbers leaning towards the Panthers and the home field for the Falcons, it's about a toss up. Gut feel says this is Cam Newton's time to break through. Pick: Panthers

Indianapolis Colts at Cincinnati Bengals (-7): Yup, this one is totally one-sided with every advantage going to the three-win Bengals, headlined by their above average defense. Through in home field and seven points seems a bit low. Pick: Bengals

St. Louis Rams at Green Bay Packers (-15.5): We don't really need to explain why the Packers are such heavy home favorites with nine wins separating these two teams' records. However, 15.5 points is a big spread and this has trap game written all over it. Rams to cover. Pick: Rams

Buffalo Bills at New York Giants (-3): The Giants are fresh off an embarrassing home loss to the Seahawks and should be mad. They also should be able to get pressure on Ryan Fitzpatrick and force some turnovers. Pick: Giants

Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers (-13): While the Packers might let down against the Rams, the Steelers are still just regaining their footing. They are going to want to consolidate last week's big win over Tennessee and follow it up with another beating. The Jaguars play the perfect patsy. Pick: Steelers

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins (+2): This line makes no sense. The Eagles defense has been bad. Michael Vick hasn't been great. The game is in Washington where their defense is even better. It might not be a pretty game and the 47.5 total points begs for the under, but there's no way we are taking Philly on the road. Pick: Redskins

We'll have the Sunday afternoon, evening and Monday night game picks posted on Friday. You can pick against us in our weekly contest which you can join here (ID: 55411, PW: arizona).
