Arizona Wildcats Dismantle Toledo Rockets, 41-2

Final Score: Arizona 41, Toledo 2

Toledo, OH (Sports Network) - Junior quarterback Nick Foles completed 32-of-37 passes for 360 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick to lead the Arizona Wildcats past the Toledo Rockets, 41-2, in the season opener for both clubs at the Glass Bowl.

Foles also rushed for a touchdown for the Wildcats (1-0), who went 8-5 last year. Matt Scott connected on 5-of-7 passes for 53 yards and a touchdown.

Senior Nic Grigsby carried the ball eight times for 53 yards and two touchdowns. Juron Criner caught 11 passes for 187 yards and one touchdown, while David Douglas and Keola Antolin each had a receiving TD.

Austin Dantin completed 14-of-23 passes for 103 yards and an interception for the Rockets, who went 5-7 in 2009. Adonis Thomas ran for 52 yards on 10 carries, while Eric Page hauled in four passes for 43 yards.

Arizona's first possession of the 2010 season resulted in a touchdown. A nine- play, 68-yard drive ended with Douglas catching a nine-yard TD pass in the back of the end zone.

A safety put Toledo on the board early in the second quarter. Backed up to their own three, the Wildcats were called for holding. The result of the penalty was a safety.

Arizona scored a pair of touchdowns late in the second stanza to take a comfortable lead into the break. After Grigsby recorded a 36-yard rushing TD, Derek Earls picked off Dantin. Foles then scored from one-yard out to make it a 21-2 game at the half.

The only scoring in the third was Grigsby's one-yard TD run.

The Wildcats added two more touchdowns in the fourth period to complete the rout.

This was the first time that a Pac-10 school traveled to a school from the Mid-American Conference.
