Brandon Webb threw another simulated game today before the Diamondbacks took the field for batting practice. This time though he only threw around 30 pitches and according to Kirk Gibson didn't look as good as the last four times the interim manager watched him throw.
Gibby didn't want to call it a "set back" instead saying this is a normal part of the rehab process but what else can you call it when he pitched worse today than he had in the four previous times.
The semantics all come down to setting expectations.
"That's why I caution you guys don't put expectation of what's going to go on. It doesn't work that way. He obviously had a pretty good injury in there," Gibson said.
