Two weeks and 12.5 percent in to the Cardinals quest for the NFC West (is it ever a bad time for a bad rhyme?) and Derek Anderson has underwhelmed so far.
↵But just how bad is Ken Whisenhunt's chosen leader, who is so good at getting hit in the chest, but not so good at throwing the ball?
↵Here's how D.A. stacks up against the NFL's other quarterbacks:
↵↵
↵
↵
- 26th in Completion Percentage (54.2%)
↵
accuracy is overrated, right?
↵- 9th in Pass Attempts (72)
↵which is kind of surprising considering he's ...
↵- 22nd in QB Rating (66.8)
↵which is bad, but better than Alex Smith (64.9), the chosen one Sam Bradford (63.5), old man Favre (56.1) and the NFL's worst Joe Flacco (41.2)
↵↵
- 16th in Sack Percentage (5.3%)
↵go ahead and blame the offensive line, which is at least mediocre
↵So basically, he's not throwing the ball down the field, he's not completing a high percentage of his passes, he's not getting sacked more than average, BUT the Cardinals are throwing the ball more than 35 other quarterbacks this season.
↵I blame Matt Leinart.
