Can The Cardinals Win In Atlanta?

The Cardinals are not supposed to win in Atlanta on Sunday. The Falcons are a 6.5 point favorite against the traveling Red Birds, despite putting up an paltry 58 yards rushing in their 15-9 loss to the Steelers.

↵

The computers are giving the Dirty Birds the 70/30 edge in their simulations and a big part of that has to be the four fumbles and the inconsistent play of Derek Anderson and Larry Fitzgerald. Add in the loss of Early Doucet and Beanie Wells' balky knee and sure, the Falcons should be favored in this game.

↵

Besides, it's not like the Cardinals have earned any respect with a couple of winning seasons coming on top of decades of suck.

↵

The upside is the Cards are in a no-lose situation. If they had lost to the Rams (like the 49ers did to the Seahawks, ha!), it would have been a disastrous start to the season. But a loss to the Falcons is expected by one and all.

↵

That means a win has the potential to be a real momentum builder and a loss isn't a setback.

↵

How awesome is that?

↵

Just go play and let it all hang out. Have fun. Jack someone up. Air out the ball. The Cards are playing on house money. Go nuts!
