Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Jerry Hairston Jr. finished 3-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and four runs scored as San Diego flattened Arizona, 10-1, in the finale of a three-game set.
Chris Denorfia hit a two-run blast and scored three times while Adrian Gonzalez also drove in a pair of runs for the Padres, who had dropped the first two games in the series.
Mat Latos (12-5) turned in six scoreless innings, scattering two hits while fanning six and walking four.
Chris Young drove in the lone run for the D-Backs, who had won three in a row.
Joe Saunders (1-1) was tagged for eight hits and six runs -- five earned -- in six full frames. For the left-hander, it was his first loss in three starts with Arizona since being dealt from the Los Angeles Angels on July 25.
Scott Hairston's RBI single put the Padres on the board in the second, and his brother hit a one-out, solo shot in the third.
In the fifth, Everth Cabrera kicked off a four-run frame with a triple then scored on Jerry Hairston's one-out base hit. Denorfia singled and then a Gonzalez single plated two for a 5-0 game. Gonzalez moved to third on a throwing error by left fielder Gerardo Parra on the hit, then came in on a Ryan Ludwick sacrifice fly.
San Diego tallied twice more in the seventh on a Gonzalez single and Ludwick double-play grounder for an 8-0 game, though Young's RBI double in the home half got Arizona on the board.
Jerry Hairston began the ninth with a single and scored on Denorfia's two-run blast to account for the final margin.
San Diego has won eight of 12 games over Arizona this season, but improved to just 2-4 in Phoenix...Latos, who has won seven of his last eight decisions, lowered his ERA from 2.47 to 2.36.
