Hudson Dominates As D-backs Deal With Padres, 2-1

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) – Daniel Hudson gave up just one run in 7 2/3 innings as the Arizona Diamondbacks took a 2-1 win from the San Diego Padres in the opener of a three-game set.

Hudson (2-0) allowed three hits and two walks with four strikeouts in his second start for the Diamondbacks, who have won three of four. Adam LaRoche hit a solo home run while Justin Upton drove in the winning run.

Jon Garland (10-8) was the hard-luck loser as he gave up just two runs on three hits with six walks and four strikeouts over seven innings for the Padres, who have dropped three of four. Will Venable’s solo homer accounted for the San Diego offense.
