San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Adam LaRoche belted a three-run home run in support of Barry Enright's seven shutout frames as Arizona opened a three- game series with a 6-0 blanking of San Francisco.
Enright (5-2) cooled off a red-hot offense that had produced 38 runs in its last three games, allowing six hits while walking two and striking out four for the Diamondbacks, who ended a seven-game losing streak to San Francisco.
"I'm not going to throw 100 miles per hour," Enright said. "I just have to know what my strengths and weaknesses are and compete."
Blaine Boyer and D.J. Carrasco each tossed a scoreless frame to complete the seven-hit shutout.
Stephen Drew doubled and tripled and scored three times and Kelly Johnson had a trio of hits and two RBI as Arizona earned a second straight win after three straight losses.
Tim Lincecum (11-9) yielded four runs on five hits and four walks while striking out six in losing a fifth straight decision for the first time in his career for the Giants, who have dropped two straight to fall a half-game behind Philadelphia in the NL Wild Card standings.
"This is just one of those things...you have to take the punch and just roll with it," Lincecum said. "It's part of the game and I have to fight through it."
The right-hander's struggles continued right from the start, as he walked Drew to begin the game before fanning the next two hitters. Chris Young worked a walk and both runners scored when LaRoche belted a home run to right that left the ballpark and splashed down in the bay.
Arizona added to its lead in the third when Drew tripled and scored on a Justin Upton sacrifice fly.
The Giants put runners at second and third with one out in the bottom half of the frame but couldn't cash in afterAndres Torres popped out and Buster Posey grounded out.
The home side also left runners at first and second in the fifth when Posey struck out to end the frame.
Arizona tacked on two final runs in the ninth against Jeremy Affeldt on Johnson's two-run double with the bases loaded.
