Padres Extend Home Dominance Over Snakes, Win 9-3

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Adrian Gonzalez's three-run blast capped an early offensive attack, and theSan Diego Padres continued their home dominance over the Arizona Diamondbacks with a 9-3 victory at PETCO Park.

Gonzalez launched his 26th homer of the season for the Padres, who have won nine straight at home over Arizona, including eight this season. San Diego also won for the 13th time in 16 games to surpass its 2009 win total with its 76th victory.

David Eckstein finished 3-for-4 and scored three times, while Miguel Tejada homered and also scored three times in the win. Wade LeBlanc (8-11) allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while fanning seven in 6 2/3 frames to earn the victory.

With the win, coupled with a Giants loss, San Diego increased its lead in the NL West to 6 1/2 games.

Stephen Drew went 4-for-4 with two homers -- his first career multi-homer game -- and two doubles for the Diamondbacks, who have lost seven of nine. Joe Saunders (1-4) lost his fourth consecutive start with his new team after yielding all nine runs -- six earned -- on eight hits and three walks in four frames.

Arizona jumped on top early with Drew's leadoff homer to begin the game, but Tejada quickly put San Diego in front for good with a two-run homer in the home half after Eckstein's leadoff base hit.

The Padres added four runs in the third to take control.

Eckstein singled and stole second, preceding a walk to Tejada. The runners moved up on a groundout, andRyan Ludwick walked to load the bases. An error from Drew on a hit by Chase Headley scored a run and left the bases loaded, and Jerry Hairston, Jr. lofted a sacrifice fly for a 4-1 advantage.

Yorvit Torrealba followed with a two-run single to increase the margin to five.

Adam LaRoche's RBI double in the fourth made it a 6-2 game, but Gonzalez crushed a three-run homer in the bottom half to push San Diego's lead to seven.

Drew's second homer of the contest in the seventh accounted for the final margin.

Drew recorded his second career game with four extra-base hits ... San Diego leads the season series, 10-4 ... Gonzalez has 82 RBI on the season ... Besides Drew, the rest of the Diamondbacks had three hits total.
