Former Wildcat Shakur Earns NBA Spot

Mustafa Shakur, Arizona Wildcats point guard from 2003-2007, continues to outlive predictions about his professional basketball career. Today he signed a contract  with the New Orleans Hornets for the 2010-2011 season.  At The Hive suspects Shakur will run third-string behind Chris Paul and Chris Paul's Trade Demands.

At The Hive called the signing "high reward low risk".  Last Thursday, Shakur received a slightly different assessment from another contributor:

"Pros: He lives!

Cons: But he sucks"
