Lon Babby and Robert Sarver continue to look for their elusive "basketball genius" to serve as Suns GM. A couple new names are surfacing, including former New Orleans Hornet GM Jeff Bower, Washington Wizards executive Tommy Shepard and Cleveland Cavaliers assistant GM Lance Blanks.
↵↵↵Babby did tell the Arizona Republic last week that his search has essentially started over since San Antonio's Dell Demps -- after an aggressive push from Phoenix that included an overnight stay at owner Robert Sarver's house and a firm offer to work under Babby -- decided instead to accept the Hornets' offer to succeed Bower as their new GM.

For some reason, the Sarver sleepover didn't provide the necessary magic to make Demps commit to Phoenix. That's surprising; perhaps it got uncomfortable when Demps and Babby wanted to drink scotch and discuss the upcoming CBA meltdown and Sarver kept yelling "Pillow Fight!" and smacking them on the back of the head while chugging Red Bull. The final straw was when Sarver wouldn't stop texting Steve Nash, much to the disgust of Babby. Demps thought a possible Chris Paul-less Hornets team was a better choice. That's just a guess.
