Sun Devils Support Troops, Troops Support Sun Devils

Arizona State University, in conjunction with KTAR and Fox Sports Arizona, are running a big promotion for the September 11 football game between the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks and the Sun Devils.

For every ticket purchased, one ticket will be donated to the Veteran Tickets Foundation, which gives out tickets to active duty military, veterans, and their families.

This is a great gesture, one that commemorates the attacks that occurred nine years ago while celebrating those who defend our nation from harm.

With the legacy of Pat Tillman overlooking this event, one can only hope that a big ceremony is planned for the pregame festivities. While a team like NAU is not a huge draw, this game could be a sell out if things go as planned.

"As a community owned asset, it is our pleasure to partner with the Veteran Tickets Foundation in order to thank our troops and their families," said Lisa Love, Vice President for University Athletics, "I hope that our community embraces this program and we are able to fill Sun Devil Stadium with those that have given so much to defend our freedom."

Hopefully Love is correct, and the stadium is packed for kickoff.
