Not to take anything from CY, who's having a nice year and certainly in comparison to his dismal season last summer, but this is one of those cases where someone has to represent the Diamondbacks and Young is the best choice. That doesn't make him an All-Star caliber player, but that's the rules of the game.
Young is averaging .264 at the plate and leads the team with 57 RBIs. He's been a steady hand in the field and has now secured the lead off position in Kirk Gibson's lineup.
