Justin Upton Day-To-Day With Hip Strain

Upton's been smoking the ball lately, so the last thing the Diamondbacks want to see is him being pulled from a a game in the fifth inning.

OK, maybe that's not the last thing. Maybe the last thing would Dan Haren throwing a perfect game or Baxter the mascot running nude across center field during the seventh inning stretch.

UPDATE: Upton reportedly was pulled for precautionary reasons with right hip tightness according to the team's website. He tweaked the hip diving back to second base in the first inning.

He could've continued playing but pulled himself out when it started tightening up.

"I carried on throughout the game a little bit, but it got to the point where it was pretty tight," Upton said. "[It was] more precautionary to go ahead and get out of the game and get some treatment on it."

Seriously, why would he want to put himself out there for this team right now. Anyone else have a sore ass they can't play through?
