Although Amar'e Stoudemire's eight years in the Valley were not always the happiest of times and he didn't always say or do the right things, he generally had good intentions. Even though he was sometimes an aloof teammate, he was not a terrible one.
So, even though Amar'e has left the Suns - the only NBA team he has ever known - he has left the joint in style, particulary in comparison to the junk-kick douche-bomb which was LeBron's "The Decision." Amar'e has taken out a full-page advertisement in the Arizona Republic to say "Adios and thanks for the memories" to the fans of the Phoenix Suns.
You can be angry about his leaving the team in the first place, or be cynical about whether or not the ad was his idea and words or was the idea and words of some underpaid personal assistant or overpaid agent, but at the end of the day, it's still more of a sentiment than a lot of players bother with:
