Scottie Upshall Re-signs With Coyotes

Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes re-signed left winger Scottie Upshall to a one-year contract on Wednesday. Terms of the contract were not released.

Upshall, 26, had 18 goals and 32 points over 49 games for Phoenix last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury on January 28. The 18 goals were a career-high.

"We are very pleased to have re-signed Scottie," said Phoenix general manager Don Maloney. "Scottie is a talented goal scorer who plays with tremendous grit and energy. He is an important player for us and led our team in goals before being injured last season. He is now healthy and we expect him to have a very successful season."

Over parts of eight NHL seasons, Upshall has played in 279 games and has totaled 64 goals and 74 assists. He has also played for Philadelphia and Nashville.
