Sun Devils Crushed By South Carolina 11-4, Ousted From CWS

An eight-run second inning spelled the end for the Sun Devils, as they were sent home from the College World Series by the South Carolina Gamecocks on Tuesday afternoon.

After starter Merrill Kelly was bumped from the mound early in the game, ASU got things relatively back on track, giving up only three runs for the remainder of the game.

But the damage was done and the Devils couldn’t generate enough offense to make up the deficit. Now, the top-seeded team in the CWS heads home after two straight embarrassing losses.
