The Sun Devils will need a much better performance today if they want to avoid an early dismissal from what is supposed to be their date with destiny.

From the Republic's Jeff Metcalfe in Omaha:

No. 11-ranked South Carolina (48-16) is expected to start junior right-hander Sam Dyson (5-5, 4.35 ERA) against ASU in an elimination game Tuesday.

The Sun Devils (52-9) will counter with junior right-hander Merrill Kelly (10-2, 3.57) as they begin what could be a long road through the losers' bracket. They would need to win Tuesday, Thursday against the Oklahoma-Clemson loser, then Friday and Saturday against the Oklahoma-Clemson winner to play in the championship series.

The local paper also has a photographer on scene who put together this gallery of the team.
