D-backs Victim of Sweep, 13 Road Losses In A Row, Red Sox Win 8-5

Boston, MA (Sports Network) – Marco Scutaro finished 2-for-4 with three RBI as Boston downed Arizona, 8-5, in the finale of a three-game interleague set from Fenway Park.

David Ortiz hit a two-run homer and Daniel Nava contributed three hits including two doubles, and an RBI with two runs scored for the Red Sox, who swept the series and have won five of six overall.

Boston continues its interleague slate on Friday by hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers, making it the first time outfielder Manny Ramirez will return to the Hub since being dealt during the 2008 season.

John Lackey (8-3) allowed eight hits and four runs — three earned — with five strikeouts over six innings for the win.

Miguel Montero stroked a pair of doubles and drove in two runs for the Diamondbacks, who have lost five of their last seven and continued to add to their franchise-worst road losing streak by dropping their 13th in a row.

Chris Young added three hits and two RBI but it wasn’t enough for Dan Haren (7-5), who took the loss after yielding seven hits and six runs — four earned — over 5 2/3 frames.
