Arizona Cardinals Injury Report, Week 14: Max Hall To IR, UFL QB Bartell Signed

As the Arizona Cardinals prepare for their Week 14 contest against the Denver Broncos, the quarterback position is more in question because of poor play and injuries to Derek Anderson and Max Hall. Rookie John Skelton may start. The Broncos also are experiencing change as coach Josh McDaniels was fired and there was discussion as to whether Kyle Orton or Tim Tebow would start.

After dislocating his shoulder, Max Hall's season is over, as the team placed him on injured reserve. Derek Anderson, who was experiencing concussion-like symptions, did not yet pass his concussion tests. To replace Hall on the roster, Arizona signed UFL QB Richard Bartel.

Bartel was backing up former NFL QB Daunte Culpepper in Sacramento, but he has been on several NFL team rosters. He has spent time with the Cowboys, Browns, Jaguars and Redskins. He has never gotten any playing time.

If you're interested, I was able to find some video of Bartel on YouTube, but it wasn't game film or highlights. It was him watching kid quarterbacks throw. Have a look:

As of now, it seems that Bartel and John Skelton will compete for the start on Sunday, but it is likely that Skelton will be the guy as of now, as he has been with the team all year. You can read a quick Q&A reporter Kent Somers had with him here.

In other roster news, the Chicago Bears signed offensive lineman Herman Johnson off of the Cards' practice squad. Johnson was drafted in the fifth round in 2009.

As for the Broncos, what we know now is that Kyle Orton will be the starter on Sunday.
