The Ultra-Swanky Media Haven At The JW Marriott Camelback Inn

New, 1 comment

Let's be real here people. Every so often, being in the media has its perks.

Covering the three bowl games here in Arizona for SB Nation Arizona makes myself, Seth Pollack and Cory Williams eligible for a couple of fringe benefits, so without trying to brag on, I guess I'm "getting my swag on," as that song that's been popular with the college kids, goes.

First of all, if you've never been to the Camelback Inn, it's niiiiice. Putting green right out in front of the lobby. Mountain bikes for guests to ride around the property. Sweeping views of the high rocks of west Scottsdale. And they welcome us media types.

No, really.  Photographic proof.

That's the parking lot. You walk into media registration, take care of business, and they actually have gifts for media members. Quality stuff from Fossil. Sunglasses, leather wallet.

The media lounge is really impressive. Chips from Tostitos and Frito-Lay (sorry, going corporate for a sec) are on every table. They give you continental breakfast, and when you want a break from writing, the lounge offers foosball, air hockey, electric bowling, a bunch of flat screen TVs showing ESPN and arcade games.

I could see myself spending some more time here, couldn't you?
