Phoenix Coyotes Recall F Mikkel Boedker From Rampage

The Phoenix Coyotes have announced that they have recalled forward Mikkel Boedker from the San Antonio Rampage. He will presumably be in the lineup on Thursday night against the San Jose Sharks.

With the Rampage, Boedker leads in assists, with 18 and has tallied 26 points on the season. His point totals this season indicate a big improvement in his play, with Boedker only registering 38 points in 64 games with the Coyotes' AHL affiliate last season.

The 21-year-old forward played in just 14 games with the Coyotes this season, with the Yotes deciding he needed more work in the minors. The season prior, Boedker appeared in 78 games for Phoenix, recording just 28 points.

The injury to forward Taylor Pyatt led to Boedker's callup on Wednesday. Pyatt was injured in a fight in the Coyotes' loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday. The Coyotes put Pyatt on injured reserve in order to call up Boedker.

Boedker is expected to dress for Thursday night's contest in San Jose, making it his first appearance for Phoenix since February 12 of this year.
