NCAA College Football Odds, Week 11: Arizona Favored, Arizona State A Home Dog

The Week 11 college football odds for the Arizona home teams give us a bit of the expected and a bit of a surprise. The Arizona Wildcats (BCS rank 18) return home after an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the 10th-ranked Stanford Cardinal to take on the University of Southern California Trojans. To complete the opponent swap, the Cardinal travel to Tempe to face the Arizona State Sun Devils.

ASU is coming off another close road loss to USC. The Sun Devils have now dropped four out of their five losses by a total of 16 points and are 3-1 at home. The Cardinal (8-1) have only one loss, which came on the road at the hands of the consensus No. 1 team in the nation, the Oregon Ducks. Stanford is 3-2 against the spread on the road and were a 9.5 point favorite against a much better Arizona Wildcat team in Week 9.

So why is ASU only a +6 underdog at home against the tenth-ranked team in the country? We are not betting advisors, but if I were putting money on this game, taking Stanford -6 seems like an easy pick. In fact, I would be shocked if that line doesn't move in the coming days.

Down in Tucson, the Wildcats are a -5.5 point favorite against the Trojans, which seems a bit more reasonable. Arizona is 2-2 against the spread at home and coming off their 42-17 beating last week, they certainly left themselves open to question. The home loss to unranked Oregon State also creates room for wondering just how good Arizona (7-2) really is. The Trojans (6-3) blew their season and any chance of earning respect from Vegas when they lost at home to the horrible Washington Huskies in Week 5.
