Martin Nash, a veteran soccer player and brother of Suns star Steve Nash, officially announced his retirement from playing last night in Burnaby, B.C.
↵Nash played for the Vancouver Whitecaps of the North American second division (one rung below Major League Soccer) for the past seven seasons and was on Canada’s national team for 10 years from 1997-2007. He was named a league All-Star last week, and spent a total of 10 seasons with the Whitecaps.
↵Nash, 34, scored 31 goals and had 48 assists in Vancouver and was team captain.

↵He’ll become a coach and scout for the Whitecaps of MLS, who start play as an expansion team next year. Steve Nash is part-owner of the club.
