Arizona is now ranked 17 in the AP Top 25 after losing to the Oregon State Beavers in Tucson last Saturday. Fortunately for the Wildcats, they have their annual matchup against Washington State to look forward to this weekend.
With a reasonable amount of effort and a focus on righting the ship, UA should be able to blow out the Cougars in Pullman. Will they be able to move up in the rankings? Lets take a look at the competition.
#16 Florida State is taking on a sub-.500 Boston College squad at home. This is a game the Seminoles should win handily.
#15 Iowa (I know, ridiculous, right?) is traveling to Ann Arbor to take on the 5-1 Michigan Wolverines. Going into the Big House is never an easy task, and the Hawkeyes could leave with their second loss of the season.
Other games of note:
#12 Arkansas and #7 Auburn meet in a battle of quality SEC teams. If Arkansas loses, they will drop below the Wildcats.
Realistically, Arizona can only hope to break the top 15, and that's only if the cards fall the right way. The Wildcats have a tough path ahead of them after being dropped quite far down the rankings. It's almost unfair. Almost.
