The University of Arizona Wildcats dropped in all the college football polls this week after a 29-27 loss at home to the Oregon State Beavers.
UA (4-1, 1-1 Pac-10) was ranked ninth in the AP Top 25 and 11th in the USA Today poll, but dropped to 17 and 20 in those respective rankings. The Wildcats are now ranked behind Iowa in both polls despite their victory against the Hawkeyes in September, proving that the polls punish teams more for losses as the season goes on.
Arizona State (3-3, 1-2 Pac-10) did not receive any votes after its 24-14 victory over the Washington Huskies. The Sun Devils have a long way to go before they would even be considered for the Top 25.
Next weekend, Arizona travels to Pullman to take on the Washington State Cougars, while ASU has earned itself a much-needed bye week before taking on California in Berkeley on Oct. 23.
