Suns 2012 Offseason: Michael Beasley Reportedly Signs 3 Year Deal With Phoenix

Michael Beasley is to sign a three year deal with the Phoenix Suns, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. The deal reportedly offers the small forward $18 million over the three years.

The second overall pick in the 2008 draft, Beasley has been followed throughout his career by off-court issues, primarily ones involving marijuana. As ESPN points out, if they think he can help the team those issues aren't likely to dissuade the Phoenix front office:

Suns general manager Lance Blanks has a history of working with troubled players dating back to his time as an executive with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Blanks was instrumental in bringing volatile guard Delonte West to the Cavs and continues to have a strong relationship with him.

Beasley spent two years with Miami after he was drafted, then played two years with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In his most recent season with the Timberwolves he averaged 11.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
