Phoenix Suns Free Agency 2012: Michael Beasley, Raymond Felton Pursued

The Phoenix Suns have a lot of personnel issues they have to work out in the summer of 2012. Not only do they have to worry about trying to keep Steve Nash this offseason. They might have to deal with trying to secure some new players to fill in the gaps and create a younger roster that can grow and develop in the long haul.

After securing Eric Gordon, several other prominent free agents are being pursued. One of them is Michael Beasley, formerly of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Chris Broussard has this report.

Michael Beasley is visiting with the Phoenix Suns Wednesday, marking his second meeting with the club since the free agency period began Sunday, sources said.

Beasley, an unrestricted free agent, flew to Phoenix to meet with the Suns on Wednesday. The Suns flew to Los Angeles to meet Beasley earlier this week.

Sources say the Suns are likely to make the talented small forward a contract offer before he leaves town.

Beasley has a lot of upside, but still really needs to work on his overall game to get better as a player. However, he can develop properly, he could be a pretty impressive power forward.

The Suns are also looking at Raymond Felton as a potential replacement for Nash. Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic has this report.

Felton is the next expected visitor as the Suns are still looking for a veteran point guard and it sure does not look like it will be Steve Nash. The Suns would rather not start first-round pick Kendall Marshall this season and apparently are not sold on Sebastian Telfair and Marshall as the one-two tandem.

Felton is coming off a pretty horrid season with the Portland Trail Blazers.
