Phoenix Suns Trade Of Robin Lopez, Hakin Warrick On Hold

Stay connected for news and updates

It was reported that the Phoenix Suns had a trade agreement in place that involved the New Orleans Hornets and Minnesota Timberwolves in which Phoenix would trade Robin Lopez and Hakim Warrick away and receive Wesley Johnson, a first round pick and Brad Miller, whom they would waive.

However, as Paul Coro noted on Azcentral.com, "significant issues remain" before the trade can be completed.

Apparently there are league rules to comply with, which have not been described. Lon Babby reportedly told a group fo fans that it is about "50/50" that the trade will happen.

If it does not go through, Warrick will of course remain a Sun, and so likely would Lopez, but on the team's $4 million qualifying offer. Lopez would become an unrestricted free agent after next season.
