NBA Free Agency: Phoenix Suns Re-Sign Shannon Brown

According to Arizona Sports' Vince Marotta the Phoenix Suns and free agent guard Shannon Brown have agreed to terms on a new deal, keeping him in the desert for the foreseeable future with a new two-year deal.

The 26 year old Brown played in 59 of 66 games for the Phoenix Suns in 2011-12 averaging a career-high 11.0 points per contest while grabbing 2.7 rebounds. In the 19 games that he started for Phoenix, Brown averaged 15.8 points and 3.7 rebounds, while shooting over 40 percent from downtown.

The Suns were actively searching for some new blood at the guard position before eventually settling with Brown. Phoenix had already signed restricted free agent Eric Gordon to a four- year, $58 million offer sheet that was unfortunately matched by the New Orleans Hornets. Phoenix also had O.J. Mayo for a visit before he ended up with the Dallas Mavericks.
