The Phoenix Suns have been in a holding pattern in free agency, as they have been waiting through the NBA's obligatory moratorium on actual signing of contracts. They made a four-year maximum offer sheet to restricted free agent shooting guard Eric Gordon, who has made it clear in the media that he does not want to return to the New Orleans Hornets.
Nonetheless, the latest report, as tweeted by ESPN's Ric Bucher, the Hornets fully intend on matching the offer and bringing Gordon back.
Source: Hornets not scared off by Gordon's comments, will match Suns' 4-year, $58million offer and plan to keep him. No S&T.

It would be quite disappointing for Suns fans to lose out on a player that could be future star. If the Hornets do match, the Suns will then turn towards other players, perhaps Shannon Brown, who played in Phoenix last season.
