With the NBA Draft complete, Las Vegas already has set early odds for the Rookie of the Year winner. According to Bovada, as you probably could have expected, number one pick Anthony Davis is the favorite to win it. Putting money on him will not net you much, as the odds are a low 6/5. However, it would win you some money as opposed to putting money on more of a long shot and just losing it.
Of course, if Steve Nash ends up returning to the Suns, that would be a dumb bet. Marshall would not win any award being a backup point guard. If Nash leaves and Marshall becomes the starting PG, then it wouldn't be out of the ordinary. After all, the pass-first Jason Kidd was co-winner of Rookie of the Year long ago.
Will Marshall do it? I wouldn't bet on it. But that doesn't mean he won't be an important player and contributor. It just means putting money on Davis or Kidd-Gilchrist is a much smarter thing to do.
