The Phoenix Suns still have a fighting chance at making it into the NBA playoffs. They will play the entirety of a four-game road series this week and will need to pick up at least a couple of victories if they want to keep their postseason hopes manageable.
On Monday, the Suns will visit the Minnesota Timberwolves, who represent the best chance for a Suns victory all week. The T-Wolves have a losing record and home, have lost eight of their last 10 games and have lost five straight. This will be a good chance for Phoenix to gain momentum as they kick off their road series.
On Wednesday, the Suns play the Memphis Grizzlies, who are 3.5 games ahead of the Suns in the Western Conference standings. While the Suns will not be looking to knock the Grizzlies off the board, a win here would definitely help their cause in the push to the playoffs.
Friday's game will be against the Houston Rockets, who are two games ahead of the Suns and may be less by the time the Suns arrive in Texas. This will be a big game for Phoenix and a win could have a direct effect on whether the Suns can move above the cutoff line for the postseason.
Phoenix will wrap up their week and their road series on Saturday against the hottest team in basketball, the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are currently on an 11-game winning streak, although they may have been taken down a peg or two by the time the Suns arrive in town. This will certainly be the toughest game for the Suns, so it is good that they will face this challenge last.
